The procedure
The procedure involves the examination of the jaw using several computerized instruments to measure the jaw movements and jaw muscles to determine the extent of the problem. After determining the extent of problem dentist establish a ''physiologic rest position'' for jaw to reduce the stress on the muscles connected to the hard tissue within the jaw joint.
NMD is a theory that changes the occlusion relieving the condylar pressure from the retodiscal pad in the TMJ space and relaxing the hypertonic facial muscles. Thus NMD helps to eliminate headache and neck-ache
